On October 24, 2024, an online training was held by representatives of the StrikePlagiarism software development company as part of the training of those responsible for the implementation of the new software in the educational process for checking academic or scientific texts for borrowings or similarities with the works of other authors. The developer of StrikePlagiarism was represented by the development manager of Plagiat.pl in Ukraine, Anna CHUDAK. The event was attended by about four dozen responsible persons of the graduating departments and structural divisions of the university.
In her report, Ms. Anna described in detail the process of checking borrowed texts, starting from the stage of uploading academic works to the system and ending with the verification report.
The StrikePlagiarism system includes a module with warnings about possible violations by the author(s), namely, replacing letters, inserting extra spaces, adding microspaces, using paraphrases, etc.
University specialists present at the meeting during the “question-answer” session touched on the possibility of individual preliminary verification by higher education applicants and other interested persons. The meeting is the first in a series of events planned by the Department of Quality Assurance of Higher Education with the aim of implementing the new software in the educational process of the university.
The administration of the university, the Department of Quality Assurance of Higher Education and all those present express their sincere gratitude to Ms. Anna and the company “Plagiat.Pl” for a meaningful lesson and thorough answers to questions.
